We sadly kiss all our babies good-bye and head out for Greenwood, Mississippi home of our friends, Tom and Ann Flanagan. It's a good thing we don't have to go back to South Dakota-we have gotten awfully spoiled with this nice weather and all that cold and snow just doesn't sound very appealing. We drive all day, but the time does go by quickly.
We add Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi to our list of states, bringing the total we have traveled through to 18 (19 for Dick if you count his trip to Chicago. While today's vistas may not be as breath-taking as ones in the mountains or along the Pacific coast, they have their own sort of beauty or are at the least, interesting and different. What a diverse, amazing country we live in!
We arrive in Greenwood early evening, and are met with Ann's wonderful cooking, unbridled excitement from the Flanagan dogs, Emma and Hank, an aloof greeting from their cat, Honey, and lots of Southern Hospitality. We've been waiting for 10 years to come back to Greenwood--at last we are here.
