After a boat ride with Steve and Kathy around Lake Maitland, we head to the condo on New Symrna Beach, about an hour away. Nephew Kevin is there and we meet up at a beachside bar for lunch and some sun. After lunch, Kevin, who is an avid surfer, gave Uncle Dick a surfing lesson! Kevin said he did pretty good for the first time! And I know he totally loved spending time with Kevin.
Later, we watched basketball games. Our KU Jayhawks, lost a heart-breaker,and are now out of the Final Four Tournament after being rated No. 1 all year. But the Madison Bulldogs (Dick's alma mater) won the South Dakota state A tourney for the second year in a row! We were able to watch part of the Madison game via computer, so that was pretty exciting.
We drifted off to sleep that night listening to the waves crashing on the beach below. (To our South Dakota ears, it sounds like a the wind of a raging blizzard). There is something very primal about that sound! Gotta love the ocean!!!!
